Scuba diving on Vancouver Island? If you ask yourself this question and you are reading this post… Well I would say you came to the right place! We offer custom made diving courses from Sport Diving, Technical Diving to Cave Diving and more.
What is Sport Diving?
We often get this question. Also known as Open Water Diving, Sport Diving is the introduction to diving in the recreational realm. The certifications typically begin with Open Water Diver and progress to Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster. Some examples of certifying diving associations you may have heard of are IANTD, SSI, and PADI.
What is Technical Diving?
The art of technical diving is simply the art of diving deeper, longer, with more equipment, and in different environments. It can also include decompression diving, wreck diving, DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicles), exploration, rebreathers and more. We like to describe Technical Diving as a more advanced way of diving. Technical Diving may be the next step in your diving education if you’re ready to further your diving abilities and experiences.
What is Cave Diving
Yeah, the one where people go underground without straight access to surface in total darkness. Cave diving has been considered one of the most dangerous sports out there. However, with appropriate training, experience, and patience cave diving can be relatively safe. Cave diving can be such a one rewarding experience. The cave environment is not seen by many human eyes. It is a humbling and memorable place. Cave diving demands a lot of respect and discipline.
At BC Sidemount we would love to take you scuba diving here on Vancouver Island. We would love to guide you through the journey of learning the art of diving. From freshwater lakes, straits, caves, through the wrecks, and from the shores of this beautiful island. We specialise in customised training at your own pace. Helping you become a confident self-sufficient diver to enjoy the underwater world is our goal.
